Literature Text
A mind of amazing brilliance,
Trapped inside a body of pain,
I swear I intended to visit you,
Now I'll never see you again.
A heart of the purest gold,
Always shining in your bright blue eyes,
I promise I often thought of you,
But my actions I do despise.
And now as I realise the truth,
I regret not following through,
With the things I wanted to say,
And the things I wanted to do.
I think of the things you said to me,
The places you said I'll go,
How much you really believed in me,
And how you spoilt me so.
I hope you know I'll remember you,
I hope you know I really cared,
You planted a seed of hope in my heart,
When I was upset, alone and scared.
I'm so sorry I never returned,
Your endless, generous favours,
But I promise each memory of you,
In my heart I will always savour.
I dedicate this poem to you Paul,
It comes directly from my heart,
And the moments and days I spent with you,
From my soul they will never part.

While I was on grade 11 camp my mother found out a very close friend of ours passed away and she decided not to tell me until I got home which I do appreciate in a way.
It's pretty personal and it'd take a very long time to explain it all, this is just my way of letting out emotions and trying to accept that I won't see him again. Simple and pretty much to the point.
I dedicate this poem to Paul Gair -
Beloved teacher and dearest friend.
May God rest his soul.
